Healing
can take place at various times in our lives, and if we are fortunate
and are surrounded by the right kind of support and guidance, this
can occur by a natural process. Such healing is often needed following
events that take place, or circumstances that arise, which alter
the direction we are moving in.
We can find ourselves at a cross roads or turning point, such as
the end of a relationship which was no longer viable, when the decision
to end the relationship may not have been made by us. When we reach
the point where we can really let go and move forward or perhaps
consider entering a new relationship (even if we did not make the
decision to leave the old one), it can feel like starting life anew.
This can feel as if a cleansing process has taken place, washing
away all the old stale energies from our system that were no longer
working for us.
It can also happen when we reach a certain age, begin a new job
or career, move from one town (or even one country) to another,
or even just move home within the same area. There are numerous
situations throughout our lives in which we may experience this
feeling.
At times such as these we may find ourselves facing new beginnings
in life, as though we are at the start of our journey rather than
part way through it, almost with a feeling of being reborn. It is
a time when we can become acutely aware of how it feels to be filled
with positive energy, and it can be exhilarating and fill us with
a real sense of being healed of all that has previously been wrong
with our life, and how we have felt about it. We may feel innocent
and trusting, seeing only good in those with whom we are entering
into relationships, and eager to move forward and make progress.
These situations are invariably linked to relationship issues, whether
they are personal or professional, old or new, and they are also
times when we can be at our most vulnerable. This is because we
may have re-discovered our optimism and enthusiasm, our thirst for
life and our enjoyment of it, and may feel almost intoxicated with
the feelings it stirs within us.
However, we are not always able to make the transition from one
phase of our life to the next without working from a base of fear
that we still carry in our system from negative past experiences,
unless we are exceptionally wise, or fortunate enough to have had
the necessary support and guidance from those around us.
When we are making such a transition in life, and still carrying
the effects of those negative experiences with us in our energy
system, our thoughts, decisions and actions can be adversely influenced
without us even being aware of what is happening. We may find ourselves
hanging on to ‘old energy' in the form of fears, anger, frustration,
resentment, inability to trust (or love) that we have accumulated
along the way as a method of protecting ourselves.
Unfortunately these techniques and emotions are probably no longer
relevant or appropriate and as we apply them to our new situation,
they can become a burden and an obstacle in the way of the ‘new
beginning' we feel so enthusiastic and optimistic about. This can
mean that at a time in life when we feel we should be at our most
joyful and contented we discover that we are anxious fearful and
confused.
When we are able to recognise that this is happening we have taken
the first step to healing ourselves and moving toward new and positive
experiences. If we do not have access to support or guidance that
is understanding of our anxieties and confusion, we can stumble
along feeling that we are missing out on an opportunity or opportunities
for our future happiness, and find ourselves in a spiral of disappoinrtment,
frustration and low self esteem which is self perpertuating.
