I live in my home town of Preston, which is in Lancashire in the north west of England and outlined below is how I came to move from a career in the structured and hard headed legal world to becoming a Healer, Counsellor, Teacher and Mentor, Workshops Facilitator and Past Life Therapist, and although I would hesitate to describe myself as a Writer and Artist, I do love both writing and creating images.

It is almost twenty years since I discovered that it is possible, and more than that it is ‘natural’, for us to heal each other and ourselves, and I have for a number of years now worked from my healing practice at my home. Initially I gained accreditation for my healing work from The Association of Professional Healers,and subsequently a City and Guilds 7307 Stage 1 Teaching Skills Certificate, enabling me to teach adults in colleges, being accepted by Lancashire County Council Adult Learning as a Tutor. I have for a number of years now also been a member of the NHS Directory Of Complementary and Alternative Practitioners.

In 2003 I obtained my Reiki Practitioner certificate and in March 2009 my Reiki Master/Teacher Certificate to enable me to teach others how to offer healing to those who are in pain, whether it is physical, emotional or spiritual. I am also a Master/Teacher Member of The UK Reiki Federation, and offer Reiki courses from Foundation Level through to Master Teacher Level.

There are many things in life which have a healing effect on us from the laughter of a child to a great work of art, from flowers in spring to the gentle touch of love from another, and the knowledge that they are there for us in our time of need. I have found this to be true from a personal perspective, and it was this that encouraged me to gain a counselling qualification to help me fulfil the important counselling aspect of my work.

The healing I offer, frequently works in combination with counselling, as I believe our society is so fast paced and our Health Services so overburdened, that there is insufficient time, space, privacy and compassion available to those who desperately need to talk through those issues that trouble or confuse them. Such issues are frequently at the heart of some persistent undercurrent of physical discomfort or distress, and are in effect the 'root of the weed' which needs to be dispensed with in order to achieve a return to improved physical health and greater peace of mind.

I in more recent years qualified as a Hypnotherapist and Past Life Thereapist.

Past Life Therapy is invaluable as an aid to clients who feel that a problem or issue they have, may have its roots in a past life. This form of therapy is extremely helpful in dealing with fears, phobias and anxieties that remain unidentified, and where the reason for this may be that the source of these issues lies in our 'ancient past' If you are interested in Past Life Regression then please visit the Past Life Therapy page of the site, by clicking on the link to the left of this page.

In addition There are many of us who simply wish to explore the concept of reincarnation and past life and as a result gain the experience of a Past Life Therapy session to take a journey and discover more about their past life experiences. I also hold a diploma in general Hypnotherapy and offer therapeutic hypnosis in a broader context. Hypnotherapy which is simply the therapeutic use of hypnosis is often able to reach those deeper issues that we may struggle with more quickly and more thoroughly than some longer term therapies.

It has been said that to be a Healer is not something you do, but something you are. I believe this applies to most (if not all) good Healers I have met over the years. Their work is not restricted to the healing session as such, but is something which emanates from them in all their dealings with others. We must all have met someone whose company leaves us feeling refreshed or uplifted and this for me, is the essence of healing.

When I am not working I live a relatively quiet life at home with my husband of many years. Our two sons left home some time ago, to find their own respective paths in life, and for a number of years we shared our home with a large fluffy,and to the end puppy-like, german shepherd dog called Max. The animal lovers amongst you will understand the sad space he left in our home and our hearts.

Since November 2008 our family has been blessed with two new family members, Matthew who has helped to keep me from becoming buried in my work and reminds me what joy the young and innocent bring into our lives, and more recently Thomas a bright smiling baby who seemingly misses nothing. He also is for me a reminder that sometimes we really should just stop and simply enjoy the moment.

The name of my website sums up my wish for all of us, a wish that I firmly believe will eventually come to pass, if we are able to focus on all of the good things that are taking place around us, and resist being brought down by the bombardment of ‘bad news’ aimed at us every day. I believe that we can make a difference to the world around and within us, more than we perhaps realise, by spreading our own individual kindness and understanding toward others wherever possible.

My aim is to be of service in helping my clients to help themselves and each other to make this earth a more peaceful planet to live on, and, towards becoming more aware of the universal nature of each one of us and our lives; and the things we have in common rather than our differences.
